In order to be successful for achieving a goal, we need a compelling Why.  If you have that, it is something you can turn to when life throws you challenges and decisions have to be made. It is what keeps you grinding for progress when you don't really feel like it.

Working out because you "should" may carry you a little way but it doesn't carry you very far.  Your Why is going to be different than other people's and that is ok.

Some people want workout to lose weight. Some people want certain ascetics.

Some people workout to want to mass gain and add muscle.

Some people workout for better health so they can be around longer  for themselves and their kids, enjoy their life more now and have odds of being a healthy functional adult for longer in their life.

Some people workout so they can be better at other things they want to do: a sport, hiking, surfing, kayaking, adventures with their spouse.

Some people workout so they can be better at the day to day things: walking up stairs, getting up and down off the floor, carrying kids or groceries in from the car.

What is your WHY?
