Over the next few months, I will  be publishing out posts with nutrition thoughts and guidelines on them. I hope you enjoy and as always feel free to reach out and ask me any questions.

Idea #1: There is no magic pill, supplement or food.

The best way to have success on a diet (meaning simply the food you are eating to meet your goals of losing, maintaining or gaining weight) is to be consistent in your behaviors day to day.  There are big habits to be focused on like eating protein, eating lots of vegetables and fruits, eating slowly, and taking time to figure out what works best for you as far as timing, portions and food preferences.   We call these habits the BIG stones.  They need to be practiced and mastered first.

Don't worry about meal timing if you are going to McDonalds for a big Mac and Coke every day.

Don't worry a post workout shake if you haven't had a vegetable in months.

On the flip slide, don't worry about having a donut on a certain day if most of the time you eat lots of meats and vegetables and food that makes you feel great.

There is no magic pill. It is what you do every day that brings change for the better or worse. What are your daily habits around eating?
